Junior Prize

Very well received last year.  $400 went to Ray and Parker Gratton for finishing 15th with 17.83 pounds.  I look for the team to be back again this year so look out!  $500 guaranteed this year due to the continued support of the bass clubs of Vermont and some fund-raising we are doing.  You just have to have at least one  team member 16 or younger on tournament day and you are eligible.  No extra fees.  You are still eligible for all the winnings so you can really clean up by winning and taking the Junior money.  Examples:
                                                Finish 1st and be Junior eligible.  Win first prize money and $500 extra Junior money.
                                                Finish 14th and be the top Junior Team.  Win $500 Junior money and whatever we pay 14th place.

Big Bag Pool

Thanks to Dana for the idea.  We will put $10 per team in a separate account to be paid out if the winning team breaks the event record, currently 24.91 pounds, set in 2009.  The money will stay from year to year and get bigger until someone breaks Dana and Jay's record.  If we see 50 teams, it will be $500 on top of whatever the winners pocket.  If the record isn't broken, this could get real big in a few years.  The mark is set pretty high so this could be fun.  In the event the Charity Bass Open doesn't happen in the future, the money in the account will be donated to Lake Champlain International to be used in the Next Generation Fund. 

The "This Never Happened" Award

We will have a drawing at the end of the weigh in and award $150 cash to the winning team.  You must weigh fish and drop your weigh slip into the box at the weigh in.  You must also be present to win.  We will draw after all the festivities are over and everyone has been paid.  So weigh what you catch and hang around.  It could be worth $150 to you.
